NAGAON: A three-day-long training programme on paddy transplanter, seed-cum-fertilizer drill, drum seeder, sprayer pump, and power weeder was held under the Assam Agribusiness and Rural Transformation Project (APART) at Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Nagaon, from August 3 to 5. Dr. Niranjan Deka, principal scientist and Head, KVK Nagaon, welcomed all the distinguished dignitaries and other participants to the special programme and explained the objectives of the programme and the benefits to be obtained by the FPC members using the machines. Dr. Arunima Deb Chodhury, state consultant, NFSM, Satish Talukdar, DAO, Nagaon, scientists from IRRI and KVK, APART staff of KVK, Nagaon, and KVK Karbi Anglong, and over 30 FPC members representing Nagaon, Karbi Anglong, and Golaghat district participated in the programme.
Dr. Neeraj Tyagi, a senior specialist, and Amlandeep Saikia, a junior researcher from IRRI, explained thoroughly about the machines and their uses. Priyanka Deka, project associate, APART, KVK Nagaon, illustrated the pre- and post-evaluation sheets to check the machinery knowledge of the participants before and after the training. The repairing and maintenance of the machines were also shown through a presentation session by the company experts at JS Industries, as an official release stated here this afternoon.
